Level 38

Rules :

- DO NOT post answers, links, screenshots or level's elements. You'll get banned if you spoil the pleasure of others, even if they ask for.

If you request some help :

Don't be too specific but don't be too vague. It's rather hard to find the right way to ask but imagine yourself in a room with other players. You can't whisper and you need to solve a riddle, you have the right to ask for a clue those who have already solved it, but you don't want the other players to find before you. To understand what you're asking for, one should be at the same step. Don't spoil the steps for the others ! You can use metaphors if you want. Show us that you're smart!

Read this topic carefully, your question may have already been asked (and answered). There's no need to ask the same question twice, even if there's no answer.

If you help somebody :

Don't help him too much, don't deprive him the pleasure to find by himself, just guide him on the way without being too specific, using as much images, metaphors and maybe other riddles as you can. After all, you're smart too wink!

If everybody plays by the rules, things will be much more funny and no one will get hurt.

Write in a correct language, ban SMS style and try to avoid spelling mistakes as much as possible.

Re: Level 38

Finding this one a little difficult to decipher the s*****. Have used some processes on the s***** to try and make it clearer for me but what i think is correct is not.

I've tried a few combinations but none seem to work.

I'm in Australia and maybe what we call some a*****s are different from what the French call them.

Can anyone assist me?

Thanks

Re: Level 38

The s***** are clear enough to find what they refer to. And all a****** are those you can find in any usual English dictionnary.

Now if you're really stuck you can always PM a moderator to set out your problem

Re: Level 38

Like most of the puzzles, you'll know the answer when you find it. Unless you Aussies are speaking some seriously non-standard English down there, you shouldn't have trouble making a few educated guesses. wink

Re: Level 38

I have both s*****.
I've noticed that each l***** in *****.*** corresponds to each a***** s****, but I just have some mental block figuring out what a***** the l*** s**** is, or how that works into the rest of the riddle.  Is the other s**** f*** important to the riddle?

I'd love to get past this one sad

lol, got it.  don't you love spending a day on something that you don't need to figure out? smile

Re: Level 38

You're on the right track, so just keep working at it. It might help to ask a friend or use Google. Also, see my post above yours.

Re: Level 38

I've been stuck on this riddle for a while now. Its not because I don't get it or anything, its the fact that I can't figure out the a****** n**** for the life of me. I've been searching google for the s***** and I asked my friends but they couldn't get it right either. I'm pretty confident I know what to do, but I just can't make out the s*****. Could someone maybe PM me and give me a push for this?

Re: Level 38

I agree that the s***** are a bit off.  I only got this one by looking at the ones I was sure about and guessing the other one or two.

Re: Level 38

In spite of the fact that I'm French I 've found only one s**** which is quite hard to figure out. But I still found the solution.

glouton in French it means wolverine.
It's small, chunky and will gobble anything up !

Re: Level 38

I had some trouble too until I realized that I had failed to do something. Once I figured that out, it sped things up quite a bit.

Re: Level 38

Hey everyone.  I've been working on these riddles for a few weeks, but just recently registered.  I hope I can easily get into the swing of things (by that I mean the lingo, and behavior of the forums, without spoiling anything for other puzzle-goers).

In terms of Level 38, I understand all the a***** s*****, and I've gotten the messages at *****.*** and *****.***.  I've just hit a wall, since the game apparently doesn't want to make any further statements.

Anyone want to give me a slight nudge?

Re: Level 38

You've got the puzzle and the key. Sounds like all you need to do is solve it.

If you need more, PM me with what exactly you're stuck on.

phreakymonkey: Being able to hear the audio is a prerequisite to this level (and to others). I'm afraid you'll need to find another computer.

Re: Level 38

It doesn't say anything that is easily translated into roman characters.  Besides, figuring out what it does say is a pretty big part of the riddle.

Re: Level 38

I was confused too until I realized that the first file was giving me another more subtle clue in addition to the key. Go back and listen to the original w****.*** again, and think about your process in deciphering it.

Re: Level 38

Crikey. Okay, the key was very eloquent, cheers for that.
Ihe actual puzzle itself, I'm pretty sure I have it pointing in the right direction, and I know 1 and 4. 3 and 5 I had narrowed down to a few different options, but I've exhausted them all. 2 I have just been trying everything against all my options for 3 & 5 until I found the answer, but it appears I'm barking up the wrong tree sad

Re: Level 38

This is a puzzle where it might pay to consult a friend or family member. There's nothing too obscure here, though. PM myself or another moderator if you're really baffled.

Re: Level 38

Indeed. I've been playing it at work and a bunch of us have had an amusing time trying to guess what the stuff might be smile
I read your note at #18 but can't for the life of me find anything new in the key, other than the key itself and how to forge it.
I'll try to nut it out for a bit longer and see how I go. I'm just worried that I'm missing something really basic. Again wink
