GIRLS AGAINST BOYS
GIRLS AGAINST BOYS started back in 1988 at a small basement studio just outside Washington, DC. Brendan Canty and Eli Janney were shut down in the dark, stirring up mean concoctions of noise and music. They finish three songs. They call in their friend Scott McCloud to sing. They call the project GIRLS AGAINST BOYS to fuck with the "boys club" mentality of the punk scene at the time.
Girls Against Boys are perhaps most notable for employing dual bass guitars, a rarity in rock music, and for their second album, ''Girls Against Boys - Venus Luxure No.1 Baby'', a heavy yet nuanced entry into early 1990s post-hardcore.
With a sound that tips its hat to both post-punk grinding guitars as well as low-end grooves, Girls Against Boys emerged as an indie act to watch through the '90s. Harsh guitars mix with anxious bass lines to get a sound that's far from either the straight up punk or indie worlds.
Take some noisy (bass) guitars, a touch of explosive drums and a sensual voice, halfway between a whine and a whisper. Add a huge amount of energy, and you obtain Girls against Boys.
For sure a delight for any "eager-to-rock" ears.

Don't got a place
Hum it seems nice. I know the bands name but I think I never heard one of their songs. Given the influences, I should give it a try.
Pfff.... I wish I could listen to some music here at work.
